Phebe Hospital Gets 2 Gov’t Vehicles

The Government of Liberia has presented two Nissan pick-ups to the Phebe Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The donation, according to the Hospital’s Medical Director, Mennie Sankawolo Ricks, is part of a broader initiative to enhance the operational capacity of the hospital, aims to improve transportation for medical staff, and the delivery of essential services to remote areas.
The Medical Director of Phebe revealed that US$60,000 was allocated to the hospital in the government’s fiscal year 2024 budget for the purchase of vehicles and that these vehicles will be used for utility and administrative purposes.
Dr. Risks expressed deep appreciation for the donation emphasizing its importance to the hospital’s ability to provide care to patients in need.
She further assured the government that the pick-ups will be crucial in ensuring timely and efficient transportation of medical supplies, equipment, and personnel, especially to hard-to-reach communities in Bong County.
She lauded the government for always supporting the hospital in its mission to provide healthcare to the people of Bong County and beyond.
Johnathan Pewu, the acting administrator of Phebe Hospital, expressed gratitude for the gesture and stressed the importance of the new vehicles in improving the hospital’s ability to respond to emergencies and provide continuous care to its patients.
He expressed gratitude to the Government of Liberia for their timely assistance to the hospital.
This donation is seen as a significant step in Liberia’s ongoing efforts to improve the healthcare sector and enhance the overall well-being of its citizens.
The Phebe Medical Director made the statement on February 22, 2025, at the hospital compound in Suakoko District 5, Bong County.
