Petitions For Representative Seat Swell In Nimba

As the October 10 general and presidential elections draw closer, petitioning and endorsement activities of persons vying for the Representative and Senatorial seats are on the increase in Nimba County as residents of Dagarmond District have petitioned one of their sons to contest for the district Representative seat.


“We the traditional chief council of this district are hereby petitioning Alfred S. Meapeh to contest for the representative seat comes October 10,” the petition said.
Speaking at the program, Nimba County Public Relation Officer, Amos Kpanada, said that Alfred Meapeh will be a formidable candidate to contest for the representative seat in electoral District 2 in the ensuing presidential and representative election.


The petition program was held in Dagarmond Town in electoral District 2 and witnessed by traditional and religious leaders, women and youth groups from along the Garr belt; local authorities as well as friends and well-wishers of the honoree.


The traditional leaders of the district say they have explicit confidence in the honoree and believe when he ascends to the legislature, development activities in their district will be his priority.
The chiefs thanked Meapeh for accepting their petition, noting that they will be with him on every step of his journey to the national legislature.


Speaking on behalf of the women, Rebecca Saye calls on all women to support Alfred Meapeh to unseat their current lawmaker, Prince Tokpah.


According to Madam Saye, representative Tokpah has massively fail the district since his second election in the district.


However, Representative Tokpah is working acidulously to maintain to win the election for the third time.
According to reports, Tokpah has begun the refurbishing of damaged bridges, reopening closed streets in Sanniquellie, as well as donations to various communities in the name of development projects.


Since the beginning of 2023, tradition chief council in Bain -Garr District have had series of reconciliation meetings among those eyeing the representative seat to reduce the number to a stronger candidate who will battle against the incumbent, but their effort was thwarted with more persons seeking to participate in the process.


In remarks, Mr. Meapeh thanked residents of the district for the petition and promised to deliver to work with the citizens to carry out needed development activities that would bring socia-economic relief to them.
