Over 44, 000 Candidates Are Sitting WASSCE
…As Education Warns Against Academic Malpractices

WAEC-Liberia in collaboration with the Ministry of Education is cautioning schools’ administrations, teachers, and students, amongst others to desist from all forms of academic malpractices as it undermines the credibility of the Education system of Liberia.
The Ministry and WAEC-Liberia said it will not tolerate any form of academic collision or malpractices in this year’s examinations as the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) commenced Tuesday, May 31 through June 17.
The regional examinations are being administered to over 44,000 candidates across Liberia, in compliance with the national policy put in place by the Government of Liberia.
The Ministry encourages all candidates, especially 12th graders to remain focus and make a successful pass in the exams as it is the requisite criteria and standards that guarantee students graduation and stressed that there will be absolutely no graduation ceremony held in the absence of an official release of the WASSCE results.
The Ministry informs schools’ authorities that all registered candidates sitting the national examinations should not be denied or sent home for project, school fees, or fees of any kind noting that any school caught sending students home, will be penalized accordingly.
Meanwhile, the Ministry emphasized that there will be no camping or the payment of flexibility fees during the period of the examinations, adding, that any student found camping during the administering of the examinations will be denied.
The Ministry, however, extends appreciation to the Government of Liberia for the continuous support given towards the advancement of the Education system.
