Orange Announces
Biggest Prize Give Away
-Adds House And Vehicle

Since the launched its operations in Liberia, Orange has hosted its annual Orange Money Christmas Zagga campaign. The event usually gives away tens of thousands of dollars through a shopping spree, cash and other prizes to many winners from across Liberia.
This week the company announced the launch of its 2021 Orange Money Zagga Christmas campaign, and by all indications, this will be the biggest prize give away that the company has unveiled since its entrance into the Liberian mobile phone market some four years ago.
Announcing the official start of the promotion on Monday, Orange Liberia’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Mr. Julien PAQUIER said that the company had considered discontinuing the program for an alternative promotion.
He stated that after much discussion Orange Liberia’s Management team decided that Zagga was one of the programs that customers really appreciated at the end of the year.
As a result, the decision was made to maintain Orange Money for another year and make it the biggest event yet. “When we decided to continue the Orange Money Zagga campaign this year, we wanted to do something bigger and better than ever to thank our customers for the loyalty in both the good times and the bad times,” said Mr. PAQUIER.
He elaborated that it was difficult to figure out a prize that would outshine previous prizes since Orange had already previously given away cash, jobs, kekkehs, bikes, trips abroad and vehicles.
He stated that when thinking about the essence of Christmas which is to bring families together, the one thing that would triumph over any prize was to give away a fully furnished modern house to a family.
“We decided that this is one gift we could give away to show our gratitude that would really have a big impact on the winner and their family,” said Mr. PAQUIER. He announced that existing Orange customers would automatically be entered into the competition with every Orange Money transaction they make.
Customers who were not yet registered could visit the Orange headquarters on Capital Bypass or any Orange POS at Total service stations and other locations to register for Orange Money.
Ms. Ariana George who serves as Marketing Supervisor for Orange Money said that she was “super excited” about the 2021 Zagga campaign and explained that as in previous years, there would be a daily winner who would be able to participate at the weekly shopping cart race competition held at Harbel Supermarket.
She stated that at the end of each week, the seven winners would be taken to a Harbel Supermarket branch where they would have 60 seconds to load whatever they could in a cart. “Basically, whatever you can put in your shopping basket (with the exception of alcohol or Hukkas) in that timeframe will be yours to take home,” Ms. George said.
Ms. George elaborated that that in addition to the daily winners, there would also be a weekly “global” winner who would also be randomly selected by the computer and that weekly winner would be called to the company’s headquarters to receive one of hundreds additional prizes including the vehicle, and a wide range of home appliances including television sets, generators, air conditioners, fans, rice cookers and more.
She explained that any Orange Money transaction done by a customer would automatically enter the draw.
“Basically, every time you do any transaction with Orange Money, be it purchasing credits or data, sending or receiving money, bank to wallet, and merchant payments you are entered into the raffle and the more times you perform a transaction, the more times you are entered into the raffle. The more times you are entered into the raffle, the greater the chances you can win,” said Ms. George.
Orange customers have been thrilled by the announcement. Dauda Kamara who has been an Orange customer since the company entered the Liberian space stated after hearing about the launch of the promotion: “I am too happy because I have hope of winning,” said Mr. Kamara who continued “Orange always leads the way.
Orange is always there for us the customers and this is why I always use Orange because other companies are just there to make money. Yes, Orange makes money, but at least we the customers can see real people winning real prizes from Orange all the time.” Mr. Kamara said that he was already a frequent Orange Money user but would increase his Orange Money usage to increase his chances to win.
“Orange has already said that the more I use my Orange Money, the more chances I have to win so there is nothing left for me to use it to buy everything I need…be it to send money, receive money, buy LEC, shop, or even buy gas I will use my Orange Money account so that I can be the lucky winner this year.”
