President Joseph Boakai has replaced the Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Education (MoE) for administrative reasons.
On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, President Boakai replaced James Armah Massaquoi by appointing Atty. Nyekeh Y. Forkpa as the new Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Education.
President Boakai’s warned officials during the fifth cabinet meeting held at the Executive Mansion on Friday, August 2, 2024 that their departure from his government will mark the end of their involvement, and that the government will have no further reason to return to the person who recommended them.
President Boakai warned against using his administration to undermine the government, stating that if officials intend to repeat past behaviors and the government had sufficient information, action would be taken against them.
President Boakai emphasized that when appointing ministers, the administration chose individuals with integrity who love the country and desire its prosperity.
He insisted that any compromise of this principle would indicate a governmental error, which he assured was not the case saying, “If the government identifies and becomes familiar with such individuals, they will be required to leave.”
He reiterated that all cabinet members and government officials must adhere to the highest ethical standards, warning that any deviation would face zero tolerance.
In his letter of appointment to Atty. Forkpa, President Boakai conveyed his trust in Forkpa’s dedication and steadfast commitment to serving the nation effectively.
