The City Solicitor assigned at the Magisterial Court in Ganta, Nimba County, Wilson Sokpasee has threatened to arrest The Inquirer Newspaper’s assigned reporter in the county, Solomon T. Gaye Sr. City Solicitor Sokpase’s threat is based on Journalist Gaye’s report on the arrests of some alleged criminals and drug dealers by the police in Ganta.
Last month, the LNP nabbed several alleged criminals for being in procession of heroin or Italian white drugs which were allegedly turned over to the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency for investigation.
During a press briefing at the police station, the chief of police in Ganta also informed reporters that the former Representative aspirant, Jasper Hne, was arrested by the LNP after being declared wanted by the LDEA in Maryland County for similar drug related issues.
The Police added that suspect Hne was later turned over and transferred to Monrovia but after few weeks, he returned to Nimba and is said to be going about his normal business.
Since the case was sent to the Magisterial Court in October, Sokpase who represents the Ministry of Justice remains mute on the case.
LDEA told the Inquirer in the county that suspects Hne, Harris Beh, Gabriel Bowman, Enoch Nougon and Maladay Matadi were all charged with criminal offences and sent to the court for prosecution.
