The newly inducted Gbarpolu County Superintendent, Sam K. Zinnah, has vowed to not only utilize the County Development and Social Development Funds for the betterment of the people, but also to subject past allocations to a comprehensive audit.
During his induction over the weekend, Superintendent Zinnah reaffirmed his dedication to serving the residents, echoing the trust bestowed upon him by President Joseph Boakai and noted that this commitment underscores a departure from the alleged opaque practices of the past, signaling a commitment to transparency in governance.
The Superintendent has surfaced bearing the mantle of promise for the county’s development through transparency and accountability.
Alongside him, a cadre of officials, including James Kpoto Scott as County Administrative Officer, Howard P. Bunday as County Finance Officer, and Onagbah Mormalee as County Development Officer, were also inducted, heralding a new chapter in the county’s leadership.
Senator Gbotoe Kanneh, Chairperson of the Gbarpolu County Legislative Caucus, on the other hand, echoed sentiments of unity and collective effort in her address to the citizens.
Emphasizing the need for cohesion and hard work, Senator Kanneh lamented the disparity between neighboring counties; she implored citizens to actively engage with their leaders to drive progress.
In a similar vein, Senator Amara Konneh stressed the importance of competence and equitable distribution of power in the selection of county officials.
Refuting claims of political bias, Senator Konneh underscored the role of community representation and chief approval in the appointment process.
Furthermore, Senator Amara Konneh outlined the allocation of funds towards various educational institutions, including the Bokomu District High School and Fassama High School, in the 2024 National Budget, something he believes highlights a tangible commitment to addressing educational needs within the county.
These initiatives, coupled with the overarching ARREST agenda noted, were championed by Internal Affairs Deputy Minister, Samuel Brown, signifying a concerted effort towards holistic development.
