New Horizon Grab Win Over One Goal Despite Being Down 10-11

The theater football house of Margibi County, the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium, in Kakata over the weekend staged another competitive game as to who earns the third-place slot for Margibi County in this year’s National Third Division Regional and Promotional Playoff.
Justin Nagbe and Fredrick Garway 60 ‘ and 86 ‘ minutes goals in the second half sealed a 2-1 win for the Cotton Tree-based club New Horizon Football Academy over the Kakata-based Club One Goal Football Academy on Sunday, April 30, at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.
One Goal Football Academy and New Horizon Football Academy played to a goalless first half after a classical football displayed from the both teams with New Horizon Football Academy winning possession during the first 45th-minutes of play.
Back from recess, New Horizon Football Academy got on the score sheet after John Mulbah alias ” Jimmy Vardy” sent a shot that saw goalkeeper Richard Kamara of One Goal Football Academy getting a save but couldn’t get a catch of the ball that saw Justin Nagbe sending it into the goal pole from a rebound that gave his side a 1-0 lead over One Goal Football Academy.
With much hope from the Kakata-based Club, One Goal Football Academy, the team talisman Kollie Jallah got an equalizer to level the score one-at piece in the 70′ minute from the penalty spot after Maxim Howard was fouled by Emmanuel Gbeeme right in the 18-yard box that saw center referee Josephus Torjilar blowing his whistle for a penalty.
And with more energy from the two teams, as both teams fight for a ticket with just 20 ‘ minutes plus added time, New Horizon Football Academy was reduced to 10-men after Emmanuel Gbeeme was shown a second yellow card by center referee Josephus Torjilar.
The home team missed two clear chances to sealed such win and qualification but such hope was dash after the visitor took a quick counter through the likes of Titus Smith and Fredrick Garway which saw the back four of One Goal Football Academy was nowhere to be seen with team Titus Smith brilliant assist to Fredrick Garway in the 86′ minute sealed a narrow 2-1 win for New Horizon Football Academy over One Goal Football Academy.
The win sealed another qualification for the Cotton Tree-based club, New Horizon Football Academy, to this year’s edition of the National Third Division Regional and Promotional Playoff.
New Horizon Football Academy got such opportunity after clinching runner-up spot at the Lower Sub-Committee of the LFA-Margibi County Sub-Association Third Division 2022-2023 League Season.
The qualification marks the former Champions of Margibi County, New Horizon Football Academy, third time in a row in the fourth appearance in the top-tier league of Margibi County, the LFA- Margibi County Sub-Association Third Division.
The club gained its first qualification under it former tactician, Coach Wattala Moore of Tony FC, after clinching runner-up spot with SUSA FC clinching championship, a competition which was held in Margibi County.
The club is now under the watchful eyes of Coach J Fayah Borbor and Shine Gbelemah as Club president with its former president Marbue Richards serving as the Chief Executive Officer.
New Horizon Football Academy joins Champions Africa Sports Academy and runner-up Wein Town United Football Club of Margibi County is in this year’s edition of the National Third Division Regional and Promotional Playoff which is scheduled for May 2023, in Monsterrado County.
