The National Elections Commission or NEC has declared Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR’s) Senatorial Candidate, Jeremiah Kpah Koung, as winner of the midterm poll in Nimba County.
This followed when the Board of Commissioners or BOC of the Commission denied and dismissed the Collaborating Political Parties or CPP’s Candidate, Edith Gongloe-Weh’s appeal and upheld the Monday, February 22, 2021 ruling of fact-finder Counselor Boakai P. Harris.
Announcing the decision yesterday in Monrovia, the Commission said the complainant could not prove any “particularity and materiality” in her complaint of alleged “fraud and irregularities” during the midterm senatorial elections in Nimba County.
Meanwhile, the CPP’s senatorial candidate has taken an appeal to the Supreme Court for final judgment of the matter.
