Murder Or Suicide? …The Death Of The Police Commander

There are scanting reports gathered so far which cannot determine whether or not the death of the southeastern regional police commander Alexander Saye was a murder or suicide.
What is confirmed is that the incident took place over the weekend in the town of Bartegan, a gold mining site in Grand Gedeh County which a team of police investigators from Monrovia is said to have arrived in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, to probe the circumstances surrounding the death.
One report says Commander Saye, a trained law enforcement officer, mistakenly shot himself in the forehead with his own pistol while cleaning his arm while another account says he shot himself at an entertainment center in Bartigan Town where he had accompany 3 of his officers with a businessman.
According to the report monitored, when Saye got wounded, he was first taken to Ziah Town Clinic for treatment, but unfortunately, therefore he was rushed to the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital in Zwedru where he was pronounced Dead on Arrival.
But those in the vicinity of the entertainment center claimed not to have heard any shooting or gun sound while the social media account is that Saye mistakenly shot himself in an attempt to clean his gun.
Saye who is believed to have had some advance training in handling weapon in and outside the country according to report, tried cleaning a gun that was pointed to his face with shot stuck in it and immediately he pulled the tracker and blew his head.
Grand Gedeh County’s Police Commander, Moses Gbanyan confirmed the incident but said the situation was above him thereby prompting the central headquarters in Monrovia to dispatched a team to the county for investigation.
However, a senior police or security officer who does not want to be named said the mistaken or accidental shooting of security personnel should not be something strange.
Meanwhile, the three police officers and the businessman who went with Saye to the mining site have been arrested and remanded in custody undergoing investigation.
