Ahead of the 2023 General and Presidential Elections, the National Chairman of the Ruling Coalition for Democratic Change, Mulbah Morlu, has pleaded with Liberians to allow George Weah to continue his developmental drive.
Morlu made the plead Wednesday, July 20, 2022 when he announced December 17,2022 as the official date to petition President Weah for a second term bid.
The CDC National Chairman noted that his plead for President Weah’s reelection among other things is to allow the Liberian leader to continue his ongoing developmental initiatives across Liberia.
Addressing a major press conference at the Party’s headquarters yesterday, Chairman Morlu iterated that President Weah deserves a second term bid so as to afford him continue with the national development objective of the country.
“I do not think any opposition will oppose Weah’s Reelection in all 15 counties especially looking at ongoing developments projects in Lofa County in which led to the party’s first victory, and other parts of Liberia,” Morlu said.
Chairman Morlu was heard boasting that Monrovia is gradually being connected by roads including roads leading to the boroughs.
“As we speak, Nimba County has been transformed under President George Weah,” he added.
The tough-talking Chairman said besides Nimba County, there are ongoing works in other counties with roads, erection of medical facilities, schools and the provision of scholarships for Liberians at all public universities.
“What the President Weah has achieved in the period of four years, no president in Liberia has been able to attain that. President Weah has established a foundation and must be allowed to continue adding. It is that opportunity that we have come as a party to plead with you for second term,” Chairman Morlu further stated.
“Today, we have come to select December 17, 2022 as the official date to petition our leader and the will be held at the Samuel K. Doe Sports complex in Paynesville,” he said.
Meanwhile, the CDC has named scores of officials including several Representatives and Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee to spearhead the Organizing Committee ahead of the December 17 petitioning program.
