Monrovia, Liberia Feb. 20, 2020 –The Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications has temporarily suspended all mailing (postage items) to the People’s Republic of China due to the Corona Virus outbreak.
The Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry, Mr. Caesar Nyan Slapeh, yesterday February 19, 2020 issued a release to put temporary suspension on all out going parcels due to flights suspension in China because of the Corona Virus.
It is widely believe that customers of the Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications are engaged in sending items to family, friends, or love ones through the post office in Liberia.
But the current situation which is causing wave of fear around the world most especially China, has left the Ministry with no option but to temporarily suspend the posting of items in that part of the world.
“The Ministry is using this medium to inform the Public on the temporary suspension of all mailing items destine for China.
The release further quoted as saying, “This temporary suspension comes as a result of the suspension of all flights departing to the People’s Republic of China”.
In solidarity with China, the Postal family is also joining in with sympathy as China’s fight to resolve the epidemic outbreak.
Meanwhile, the public will also be informed about the lifting of the temporary suspension.
