Minister Nyanti Participates In Women Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Foreign Minister, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, is set to join her counterparts from around the world at Today’s Women Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (WFMM), co-hosted by the governments of Jamaica and Canada. The high-level meeting is expected to take place from September 19-20, 2024, in Toronto, Canada.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, this significant gathering of women foreign ministers aims to address the most pressing global challenges and strengthen the influence of women in global diplomacy.
The meeting which will be held under the theme: “Advancing Gender Equality and Empowering Women through Diplomacy”, will offer a platform for collective dialogue and collaboration among female leaders in foreign policy.
The two-day conference will discuss ways aimed at tackling key issues such as global peace and security, economic development, climate change, and inclusive diplomacy.
“Minister Nyanti is expected to projects Liberia’s perspective on these important matters, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to advancing peace, security, and women’s empowerment, both at home and on the international stage”, the release added.
Meanwhile, in a communication dated September 5, 2024, the Embassy of Canada to Liberia, with residence in Côte d’Ivoire, has shared the official agenda for the upcoming meeting. Liberia’s participation in the WFMM underscores its growing role in global diplomacy and the country’s dedication to promoting gender parity in leadership roles.
The release further emphasized that as Liberia continues to navigate its path toward sustained peace and development, Minister Nyanti’s participation in the meeting serves as a testament to the country’s ongoing efforts to engage with the global community, especially on issues of gender equality, human rights, and sustainable development.
“The Women Foreign Ministers’ Meeting promises to be a critical forum for fostering international cooperation, with the unique voices of female leaders playing a central role in shaping a better future for all,” the release concluded.
