Labor Minister Cooper Kruah yesterday, January 7, 2025, convened his first leadership meeting with employees and staff of the Ministry, aimed at fostering a culture of recognition and motivation within the Ministry.
Held at the Ministry in Congo Town, the meeting was also marked by a spirit of camaraderie and a commitment to enhancing the working environment for all staff members and employees in this year, 2025.
In his remarks during the meeting, Minister Kruah emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving the Ministry’s goals and said, “Our mission is to ensure fair labour practices, promote workers’ rights, and create a conducive environment for both employers and employees.”
“But we cannot achieve this without a dedicated and motivated workforce. Today, we come together not just to discuss our objectives but to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our employees,” he admonished.
Cllr. Kruah also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead such a vital institution, thus acknowledging the challenges faced by the Ministry in recent years, including issues related to labor rights, unemployment, and workplace safety.
He noted, “We are at a critical juncture in our nation’s history, and the role of the Ministry of Labor is more important than ever. So, this new year, I want us all to think that together, we can make a difference.”
Cllr. Kruah has at the same time, outlined his 2025 vision for the Ministry moving forward and emphasized the need for improved communication and transparency within the Ministry of Labor.
He intoned, “We must create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. So, I encourage open dialogue and feedback from all employees. Your insights are invaluable in shaping our policies and initiatives.”
Meanwhile, during the meeting, Cllr. Kruah also recognized and honored outstanding employees who have demonstrated exceptional commitments to their roles, disclosing that he decides to honor individuals who have gone above and beyond in their service to the Ministry and Liberia.
He also reflected on the significance of the meeting, asserting, “This was not just a meeting; it was a celebration of our collective efforts and a reaffirmation of our commitment to the people of Liberia. I am excited about the future of the Ministry and the positive impact we can make together.”
Kruah, however, urged employees to embrace their roles as ambassadors of labour rights in Liberia and added, “Each of you plays a vital role in shaping the future of our workforce. Let us work together to create a labour market that is fair, equitable, and conducive to growth.”
In response, the honorees expressed renewed motivation and a sense of belonging within the Ministry, with many expressing their appreciation for the Minister’s approachability and willingness to listen.
