Mines And Energy Ministry Bans Mining Activities

The Ministry of Mines and Energy has placed a ban on all mining activities in and around the vicinity of Ben-Ben Town, Todee Statutory District with immediate effect.
Fully with this directive, also applies to all prospecting, reconnaissance, and exploration activities.
While the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) recognizes the privileges and validity of legitimate license holders who will be affected by this temporary measure, public safety, peace, and order are more paramount.
This move is intended to allow the Liberia National Police and the relevant security agencies to continue their efforts to restore total calm following a recent incident that resulted in the loss of lives.
Accordingly, the Regional Coordinator, Mining Agent, and Inspectors assigned within the rural Montserrado area are instructed to comply.
