Mighty Barrolle Secure First Win Of The Season, Revive Hopes

Liberia’s oldest football club, Mighty Barrolle, finally broke their winless streak over the weekend, clinching a crucial 1-0 victory against Shaita FC in an away match during their 2024/2025 National First Division league campaign.
The triumph marks the first win of the season for the Rollers, who have endured a challenging start, marked by four defeats and a single draw in their opening six games. The poor run of results led to the sacking of former coach Christian Mend, with Sekou Manubah stepping in to stabilize the struggling side.
Barrolle, sitting at the bottom of the 14-team Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division League, displayed resilience and determination throughout the match. Their hard-fought victory came through a second-half goal, executed brilliantly during a counterattack that left Shaita FC’s defense scrambling.
The first half was evenly contested, with both teams creating opportunities but failing to convert. Barrolle’s breakthrough in the second half brought a wave of relief and jubilation to their loyal fans, who have been yearning for a change in fortunes.
Despite facing significant pressure from Shaita FC in the latter stages of the match, Barrolle’s defense remained resolute, ensuring the slim lead was protected until the final whistle.
The result was celebrated not only for the three points but also as a testament to the team’s hard work and perseverance amid adversity. Barrolle coach Sekou Manubah expressed optimism following the victory.
“This win is a crucial step forward for us. It has lifted our spirits, and we’re looking to build on this momentum in the coming games,” Manubah said. “We are taking it one game at a time, but we are not a team to overlook.”
While Barrolle remains at the bottom of the league standings with just four points from six matches, the victory has reignited hope for a turnaround in their season.
Fans and players alike will be watching closely as the Rollers aim to climb out of the relegation zone and reestablish their reputation as a force in Liberian football.
