MICAT To Train Public Relations Officers In Strategic Communication

The Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism (MICAT) has announced plans to conduct specialized training in strategic communication for public relations officers in government ministries and agencies.
The disclosure was made by MICAT’s outgoing Deputy Minister for Technical Service, Daniel O Sanoe, stating that the initiative, aimed at enhancing cohesive government communication under the ‘One Government, One Communication’ framework,
Addressing reporters during a routine press briefing on July 9, Minister Sanoe disclosed that the training is scheduled to commence on Friday, July 13, emphasizing its strategic importance in fostering effective communication across all sectors of the government.
“We are committed to enhancing the capacity of public relations officers through collaboration with private sector partners,” Minister Sanoe stated.
He highlighted the Ministry’s intention to convene professionals from various government sectors to participate in comprehensive capacity-building exercises focused on strategic communication strategies.
The Minister expressed optimism about the outcomes of the training, emphasizing its critical role in improving government communication strategies affirming, “Once completed, we will provide updates on the progress and achievements made through this program.”
The announcement underscores the Ministry’s proactive approach towards fostering unified and effective communication practices across Liberia’s governmental entities.
Also, the initiative is expected to equip public relations officers with the necessary skills to effectively convey government policies and initiatives to the public.
