Methodist Church Takes Methodist School Principal To Court In Nimba

The Gompa United Methodist Church has filed a lawsuit against the Ganta United Methodist High School Principal James Korlorblee and other pastors in Nimba County in the wake of the deepening internal crisis which continues to rock the Methodist congregations thereby adding a new dimension to the internal wrangling.
Speaking to the Inquirer, Joseph Guanue, members of Methodist Rehab Church in Gompa frowned at the Gompa UMC officials for taking a religious case to court in the absent of church elders in the district.
According to member Guanue, the alleged refusal of the Methodist High School Principal Korlorblee, Rev. Ebenezer M Belleh, senior pastor of the Gompa McAllister Church, Rev. Jerry Kandea, Gompa District Church Superintendent to turn offices over to the incoming pastors triggered the lawsuit.
“The issue of this same sex marriage has divided the church into two groups, Gompa UMC verses Global Methodist Church in Nimba,” Guanue revealed.
When contacted, Methodist senior high principal James Korlorblee , confirmed the lawsuit against the school’s principal and two senior pastors assigned in Nimba.
” UMC filed action of summary proceedings of real property at the 8th Judicial in Sanniquellie, we will be appearing May 2025, term of court opening,” Principal Korlorblee confirmed.
Principal Korlorblee was replaced by Zawolo Zuogele as the newly assigned principal to steer the affairs of the school but, has allegedly refused to turn the office over to his predecessor Zuogele.
The two pastors Rev. Jerry Kandea , District Superintendent and McAllister church senior pastor Ebenezer Belleh, are among officials who have allegedly refused to turn over office to the incoming pastors.
When contacted at the mission station compound in Gompa, principal Zuogele confirmed the lawsuit and refer the paper further to the UMC’s Compound in Monrovia .
Since the beginning of 2025, Gompa UMC reportedly broke away and joined Global Methodist Church over report of same sex marriage.
When contacted Gompa UMC station superintendent Priscilla Gilayeneh, remain tight-lipped on the issue on grounds that she has no knowledge about the lawsuit.
