MDR Gets New Leadership

By Solomon T. Gaye Sr.
The Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) over the weekend elected a new leadership to steer the affairs of the party in the commercial city in Nimba Country.

Speaking at the opening of the program, Senator Prince Yormie Johnson said that he will not be a formidable candidate to battle the Presidential Post on the MDR ticket in the pending 2023 Presidential and Representative Elections in the country.

According to him, the MDR is among political parties in Liberia that is well structured and highly respected by many of the citizens in the county.

The Nimba ‘political godfather’ boasted that Senator Jeremiah Kougn is the new standard bearer most suited to steer the affairs of the party accordingly.

The MDR 2nd National convention held at the Jackie Guest House was attended by partisans of the 15 counties’ chairmen along with various women groups.

The convention was climaxed with the election of 36 members on white ballot by the party’s delegates and partisans under the watchful eyes of the NEC Representatives. The elected members are expected to work strictly under the supervision of the party’s standard bearer, Senator Jeremiah Kougn and the national chairman, Cllr. Cooper Kruah respectively.

Speaking on the same issue, the newly elected national chairman Cllr. Kruah, urged partisans to relentlessly support the party to win more seats in the pending 2023 Presidential and Representative Elections in the country.

The Minister of Postal Affairs and MDR national chairman Kruah, then boasted that he will do everything possible to brave the pending electioneering tornado.
