A tragic incident unfolded in Grand Bassa County District 1 during the evening of Saturday, February 22, 2025, when a man identified as Leroy Wesseh, was fatally stabbed following an argument.
The shocking event has left the local community mourning as authorities launch an investigation.
According to eyewitness’ accounts, the confrontation began when Wesseh attempted to enter a kitchen where food was being prepared but the alleged perpetrator, only identified as “Nuch-boy,” reportedly instructed him to stay out.
However, Wesseh insisted on entering, leading to a heated argument between the two men.
The dispute quickly escalated, and in a tragic turn of events, Nuch-boy allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed Wesseh.
The victim was rushed to the Liberian Government Hospital but succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.
The motive behind the argument remains unclear, and authorities have yet to determine whether there were any prior tensions between the duo.
Meanwhile, Nuch-boy has been taken into police custody in Compound One, Grand Bassa, as officers conduct an ongoing investigation into the fatal altercation.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, with many expressing shock over how a seemingly minor dispute could lead to such a devastating outcome.
Local leaders and community members are calling for a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
Authorities have urged anyone with additional information to come forward as they work to piece together the circumstances which led to Wesseh’s death.
