Man, 32, Survives Armed Robbers Attack …Cries For Justice In Nimba

Rubben Beaie, 32, is appealing to the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to help him get justice into an alleged armed robbery attack by a group of robbers in Ganta, Nimba County.
Explaining his ordeal, the victim said that he was attacked by robbers on September 26, 2019, at about 10p.m. at the Spark Entertainment Center in Ganta while onboard a commercial vehicle to Gblor Dialah Town to visit family members.
He explained that a group comprised of armed men attacked him on the orders of a man who claimed to be a member of the community watch forum identified as Prince. According to him, the guys attacked him with cutlasses, knives and other weapons and inflicted wounds on his head, shoulder, and other parts of his body and they fled the scene.
He said that the attackers took away his Orange and Lonestar cell scratch cards worth US$ 386.00, an Itel phone cost US$40.00 and LD$13,000.
Victim Beaie further disclosed that since the case was reported to the LNP on the very day of the incident, September 26, the police have done nothing regarding the arrest and subsequent charge of the suspects in connection to the robbery.
Beaie explained that he has received over 10 stitches at the hospital and his condition is still not improving on grounds that he needs advanced medical treatment.
“Why is the man claiming to be watch forum officer Prince who allegedly ordered men to kill me has not been arrested by police,” victim Beaie asked in tears.
“In Nimba County, killing of innocent people, coupled with mob justice is a common practice most especially in Ganta, with many of the perpetrators going with impunity,” the victim added.
According to our Nimba County correspondent, Rubben Beaie, was found lying near the Spark Entertainment Center situated in the LPMC’s community in a pool of blood appeared to have been flogged by unknown criminals.
In early March 2019, a Nigerian businessman was found dead in a creek in Ganta after being killed by criminals.
When contacted the criminal investigation department ( CID) at the Ganta Police Station, officer Redeemer Toe, confirmed the incident but insisted that the investigation is still ongoing. The officer declined commenting on whether the suspect will be charged later and sent to court.
The CSD Chief investigator further disclosed that one suspect identified as Thousand Joe, has been arrested and will be charged and forwarded to court.
