Man, 18, Sent To Jail For Murder

The Monrovia City Court has sent an 18 year old man identified as James Zoduwah, to the Monrovia Central Prison, for allegedly killing his friend, Abraham Nat, around the 17th Street, Sinkor.

The defendant’s crime was  in violation of Chapter 14, Subchapter A, Section 14.1 of the revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia, and was arrested, informed of his Miranda Rights, Investigated, purposely, knowingly, and intentionally stabbing deceased Nat in his left eye with an instrument believed to be a scissor, which eventually led to his death at 8:45am.

During Police in-depth investigation conducted, it was established that on August 7, victim Abraham Nat and defendant Zoduwah had an argument over the victim’s girlfriend, identified as Ruth, which resulted into a physical altercation, thereby leading to defendant Zoduwah (alias Block) stabbing victim Abraham Nat.

Additionally, investigation revealed that deceased Nat and defendant Zoduwah, including Kelvin Cooper and Ambrose Rogers, were stoning at each other, which led to deceased and the defendant getting into a fist fight which was separated by the community chairman, as well as community dwellers.

It was at this time the defendant left the scene, went to his house, came back with an instrument believed to be a scissor, concealed on his body, and stabbed the deceased in his left eye.

Investigation further revealed that the deceased’s girlfriend (Ruth) is a sex worker and was seen with another guy, which did not go down well with the deceased and that led to the beating of Ruth, an action that sparked the initial confusion between him and the defendant.

During the police investigation finding conducted, it was established that the defendant and deceased had an altercation while victim was trying to beat his girlfriend (Ruth) and he (defendant) was trying to stop him.

The findings maintained that after the deceased was stabbed by the defendant, he escaped from the crime scene with the weapon/criminal agency, and was arrested six (6) days after the incident.
