Lofa Reclaims Title In Kickball

Lofa County has reclaimed the kickball title in the National County Sports Meet making it the champion for the 2022-2023 edition.

The girls from Wologizi were from the start of the competition firm with all commitments securing the title for their linage.

In a tense final against hard side; Nimba County Lofa County made only two homes that were not contested by her opponents.

In the first inning; all basses were tied, but a single midfielder from the Lofa girls’ team was able to make a home.

All other innings were homeless till another player from Lofa was able to penetrate and touch the home bases.

It ended 2-0 in favor of Lofa County yesterday at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.

In the last edition the newest champion won the title after falling to reach the qualifiers in other disciplines mainly football.

The two finalists’ qualification came from group ‘C’ in the qualifier held in Voinjama and to reach the final before keeping the title, Lofa defeated Grand Bassa, Margibi and came across Nimba.

As for Nimba, she played Rivercess during the quarterfinal and won Bong in the semifinal. Both teams’ showpiece were graded as one of the best games in the National Festival for Kickball.
