LNP, Pleasantville Police Form Partnership

The Liberian National Police under the leadership of Inspector General Patrick Sudue has formed a new partnership with the police department of the City of Pleasantville in Southern New Jersey, USA.
Col. Patrick Sudue, in an interview said it all started with the assistance from a group of Liberians living in that part of the United States thru whose initiative he was invited to visit America where he met the Chief of police of Pleasantville.
He said the discussion ended up into a partnership the LNP and that of the police of the city of the State of New Jersey, USA over a year.
The group under the detail of the Liberia Community Association of the South Jersey, USA. was able to form part of a discussion with the Police Chief of Pleasantville Sean Riggins.
Col Sudue pointed out it was then it was agreed for the LNP to benefit from training in the USA by the Pleasantville police department.
According to the partnership formed between both police chiefs, the LNP will send 10 of its most qualified officers for training in various crime prevention, including anti rubbery and money laundering, and community policing.
According to the arrangement as per discussed, the 10 LNP officers after training would return to Liberia to train other police officers which would be closely monitored by the Pleasantville police which would send some of its officers to Liberia.
The partnership between LNP and the Pleasantville police chief Col. Sean Riggins, the major of the City of Pleasantvile Mr. Jesse L. Tweedle, the Liberian Community of South Jersey headed by its president Hayford J. Jarpa would be responsible for the accommodation and feeding of the 10 LNP officers that would be sent for the TOT Training in the USA.
Board members of this Group of Liberians include Victor James, Nagbe James Barclay, among others that has fully accepted to accommodate the LNP officers that will be sent by the Liberian Government for the training.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Sudue has extended thanks to Liberians in that community for such a good gesture.
He has called on others Liberian groups living in the USA and other parts of the world to emulate the good example of Liberians living in South Jersey.
In remarks, former President of the community, Patrick T. Weah, who is presently in Liberia, extended thanks to IG Sudue for making use of the offer by his group and that Liberians in South Jersey are exploring other opportunities for Liberians to visit the USA for more training.
