LISGIS Shortlist Candidates
For Census Training

The Liberia Institute for Statistics and Geo Information Services (LISGIS) has released the names of 24,155 shortlisted applicants from the 15 counties as a provisional result for the recruitment process.
According to the statistics center, only 15,421 persons in the reported number of shortlisted candidates are needed for the conduct of the census that is expected to begin on October 24, till November 7, 2022.
LISGIS recorded the provisional shortlisted persons will be sent for relevant trainings and other major activities that will empower many of them to form part of the census team.
The number which covers the 15 counties has been divided in to 149 training sites.
Releasing the provisional result of shortlisted applicants at the start of the week in Monrovia, LISGIS Acting Director General Wilmot Smith said a presumptive listing of 17,027 applicants will be released for pretest exercise.
The acting LISGIS boss added that the next result that follows will be a listing of the 15,421 qualified candidates that are needed to carry on the constitutional task.
According to him, there are 13,800 enumerators and 2760 supervisors that stand the chance to work with various community and traditional leaders to ensure a smooth, transparent and credible conduct of the 2022 national census. He called all Liberians that applied for the recruitment to visit the institution’s website that were used by all those that applied to know the status of their application and subsequently move to preparation for the next processes.
“The application vetting process is being done and the results released is a provisional one, in the next few days, the final numbers will be out that takes applicants to pretest and other processes,” he clarified.
He revealed that as the census day draws closer, the statistic house through a tri-petal team set up to vet the application process when through the total number of 29,829 applications received and reported the shortlist based on the standard selection criteria.
Dir. Smith explained that the recruitment for enumerators and supervisors was initiated early in 2022 and had a shift in date that caused it to end August 14, 2022.
He said based on the use of high school diploma and a WAEC certificate as the minimum qualification, LISGIS recorded three application Doctors of Philosophy degree (Phd) holders, 114 persons with Masters, 4311 University graduates with both BSc and BA and 1,841 applicants were post-secondary graduates while the highest application came from the least educational requirement that is 23,560.
