LIS Building In Ruins In Nimba

By Solomon T. Gaye Sr
The deplorable condition of the Liberia Immigration Service building at the Loguatuo port of entry, is raising concern among the residents and Joint Security officers assigned at that main government border in Nimba County.
Speaking in Loguatuo, Wilson Yormie frowned at the Ministry of Justice and Commissioner of Liberia Immigration Service for their alleged failure to renovate the LIS sub office at the border in Loguatuo.
“LIS is responsible for movement at every sector of the country; travelers leaving the country and coming into the country pass through LIS office for inspection, but the building is in ruins and MOJ is silent. This is a big disgrace for mama Liberia,” Yormie stated.
The deplorable condition of the LIS sub office in Loguatuo has claimed the attention of many of the residents, Joint Security officers, and other local authorities in Nimba County.
Speaking to this Paper on behalf of the Joint Security, a LIS officer revealed that lacks of uniforms and operation vehicles is hampering the smooth running of the LIS in the county.
“Kparblee District has over two thousand Burkinabe’s, no State security assigned in Yarwin Mansonnon District in electoral District 9; Ghanaians and Nigerians using that route to enter gold mining areas in Rivercess and Sinoe to dig gold; MOJ not providing vehicles; the situation we are facing is very worrisome,” the LIS officer lamented.
