Liberian Embassy In Paris Hosts Olympic Athletes …Expresses Hopes For Medals

The Acting Head of Mission at the Liberian Embassy in France, Tracy Ashley Grigsby, has welcomed Liberia’s eighth track and field athletes competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at a mini lunch hosted at the embassy.
The athletes are set to compete in six different events from August 2-10 at the iconic Stade de France.
The Charge d’affaires of the Liberian Embassy in France, lauded the team and appreciated their dedication to representing Liberia on the global stage.
Grigsby expressed great optimism in the young male and female talents to bring home gold medals for Liberia.
The Liberian Olympic Track & Field Team 2024 consists of Men’s 100m: Emmanuel Matadi; Women’s 100m: Destiny Smith-Barnett, Thelma Davies; Women’s 200m: Thelma Davies
Women’s 100mH: Ebony Morrison and Men’s 200m: Joseph Fahnbulleh
Men’s 4x100m relay: Emmanuel Matadi, Joseph Fahnbulleh, Jabez Reeves, John Sherman, Akeem Sirleaf.
According to Coach Sayon Cooper, the athletes have been competing over the last 12 months to qualify for the Paris Games by hitting the mandatory entry standards.
Coach Sayon Cooper believes this is one of the most talented Liberian Olympic track teams, with the goal of advancing to the finals in each event and fighting for podium finishes.
The Liberian Embassy in Paris is the only Liberian diplomatic mission in France, providing consular services to Liberians and French citizens.
With the Olympic competition starting tomorrow, all eyes will be on #TeamLiberia as they aim to make history and bring home Liberia’s first ever Olympic medals.
