Liberian amputee footballers Jerome Togbah and Darlington Vangalove Sebeh were instrumental in Bursa Amputee Football Club’s thrilling 3-2 away victory over FC Sancaktepe last Sunday in the Turkish Amputee Second League.
Defender Jerome Togbah gave Bursa an early lead, finishing a precise through pass from fellow Liberian Darlington Sebeh inside the penalty area.
The goal was Togbah’s second of the season and highlighted his growing influence at the club, where he has become a consistent presence in the backline.
The opening goal was followed by a brace from Turkish midfielder Hamza, who added two more goals to secure the win for Bursa in a tightly contested five-goal match.
Sebeh, playing in a central midfield role, delivered all three assists on the day.
His creativity and vision in the middle of the park earned praise from both teammates and coaching staff.
Since joining the club, Sebeh has become a key playmaker and a fan favorite for his tireless work rate and technical ability.
With the win, Bursa Amputee FC climbs to third place on the Turkish Amputee Second League table, collecting 12 points from eight matches.
The result strengthens the team’s chances of pushing for promotion in the second half of the season.
Togbah, a former standout for Liberia’s national amputee football team, has made eight appearances this campaign and continues to impress with his defensive solidity and ability to contribute on the attacking end.
The performance of both players has drawn positive attention to the growing pool of talent among Liberian amputee athletes competing abroad.
“Jerome and Darlington have been phenomenal this season,” said a club official. “They’re not only performing well individually, but their chemistry on the pitch is a major asset for the team.”
Their impact extends beyond the field, as they continue to inspire other Liberian athletes and raise the profile of amputee football in Liberia.
Their success story is seen as a testament to resilience, determination, and the potential of inclusive sports programs.
As the season progresses, both players are expected to play vital roles in Bursa’s campaign, with hopes high for a strong finish in the league standings.
