In a heartfelt Easter message, the President of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr., urges the Liberian Church and nation to rise with Christ—to hope, to heal, and to serve.
The resurrection of Jesus is not just history—it is a living call to rebuild lives, communities, and our country, said Dr. Reeves.
Under the theme “Christ Is Risen—Let Hope Rise With Us,” the message affirms that the power of the resurrection offers both personal renewal and national restoration. In a world clouded by fear, injustice, and division, Easter breaks through with the promise that life triumphs over death, unity over division, and light over darkness.
According to a press release, the Council challenges believers to move from preservation to participation—where faith is active, visible, and grounded in love. “Let us sow signs of newness even in our national stillness. This is the time to act—not just to speak of resurrection, but to live it,” Dr. Reeves stated.
With over 90% of ministry happening at the community level, the LCC emphasizes that resurrection faith must translate into action—through justice, mercy, education, healing, and bold witness.
“Let’s rise together—with Christ and for Liberia,” said Dr. Reeves. “Let’s not grow weary in loving our God, our people, and our nation.”As Easter services fill sanctuaries, the Council calls on churches across the country to carry resurrection power beyond the pulpit—into homes, streets, and systems where transformation is most needed.
The LCC is a fellowship of Christian denominations and institutions committed to spiritual unity, justice, peace, and national transformation.
The release concluded with rallying call to Christians saying, “Christ is risen. Let His people rise, too—and lift Liberia with them.”
