LFA, FIFA Underscore Shared Vision, Commitment To Advancing Football

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) and Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) have joined hands in a collaborative effort to enhance the development of football in Liberia.
A Contract of Agreed Objectives has been signed between the two parties for the period between 2022 and 2026.
This agreement signifies the commitment of both the LFA and FIFA to implement customized projects and programs that are specifically designed to foster the growth of football in Liberia.
The LFA is dedicated to keeping stakeholders informed about the progress of these projects and programs.
Starting from January 2024, the LFA has vowed to provide regular updates to ensure transparent communication and accountability.
These updates will highlight the advancements made in the implementation of the initiatives supported by FIFA’s funding.
In addition to the overall funding, FIFA has also allocated an additional US$100,000 specifically for the talent identification scheme under the FIFA Talent Development initiative.
This funding is meant to identify and nurture promising young talents in Liberia from 2023 to 2026.
Moreover, a significant portion of the funding, amounting to US$200,000, has been allocated to support the Women’s Football National A team.
This financial support will cover expenses related to training, international matches, technical staff, and player indemnity, further strengthening the women’s football program in Liberia.
To ensure the growth of football at grassroots levels, the LFA has been granted US$200,000 to support grassroots programs for schools and academies for 2023-2026.
This funding will enable the LFA to reach out to boys and girls across Liberia, promoting football at the grassroots level and nurturing future talents.
An essential aspect of development lies in improving the capacity and expertise of individuals involved in football administration.
The LFA has allocated US$250,000 to provide training for referees, coaches, medics, administrators, and other staff members associated with the LFA. This capacity-building initiative will contribute to raising the overall standards and professionalism in Liberian football.
Furthermore, the LFA has secured US$300,000 to acquire additional equipment for women’s teams, grassroots initiatives, and other football-related activities.
This funding will ensure that adequate resources are available to support the development and growth of football at various levels.
Recognizing the importance of proper infrastructure, FIFA has allocated US$1,285,000 for the construction of standard, mini, and beach soccer pitches from 2023 to 2026.
This investment in artificial pitches will provide players with high-quality training and playing facilities, thereby elevating the overall football experience in Liberia.
To facilitate the smooth operation and transportation needs of the LFA, US$80,000 has been allotted for the purchase of operational vehicles and motorcycles, as part of the Transport Project for 2023-2026.
Lastly, US$185,000 has been earmarked to upgrade and complete the facility at the George Manneh Weah Technical Center for 2023-2026.
This improvement will enhance the infrastructure and create a more conducive environment for training and development activities.
Through the implementation of these tailored projects and programs, it is anticipated that football in Liberia will experience significant growth and development during the project period of 2022-2026.
