LEC Seeks Approval To Install Transformers On Grid Network

The management of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), has informed the general public that those wanting to install transformers on its grid network either for business or other purposes, to seek an approval from the LEC management.
The approval is to ensure that transformers meet the required LEC specifications, designs and required safety standards.
“Unapproved installations will be treated as Power Theft and will leave management with no choice, but to immediately isolate said transformer from the LEC grid network,” the LEC release stated.
“All communities, businesses and individuals wanting to carry out such installations, are asked to take note of this requirement, to ensure proper compliance,” the release urged.
