LEC Clarifies

The Management of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), has learned of misleading reports circulating on social media that Senator Emmanuel Nuquay was involved in power theft at his residence.
LEC wishes to inform the general public that Senator Nuquay was never involved in any act of power theft as alleged.

According to investigation findings, tenants renting stores and apartments from Senator Nuquay at a commercial building had illegally connected their stores and were disconnected by LEC.

As the property owner, Senator Nuquay cooperated with LEC to ensure that the relevant fines were paid by his tenants through his lawyer however, a receipt was issued by LEC for the fines in the name of the property owner and not the tenants.

The management of LEC welcomed the level of cooperation with Senator Nuquay in its fight against power theft.
