By Solomon T. Gaye
The Liberia immigration Service over the weekend, arrested a Lebanese migrant in Ganta, Nimba County, due to his lack of legal documents.
Speaking on the issue, an unnamed senior LIS officer explained that Mohamed Pmroty, a Lebanese, was hooked by Immigration Border Patrol at Jungle Group of Investments in Ganta.
According to LIS, preliminary investigation has revealed that Pmroty entered the country on December 19, 2023, and has been illegally working with a group of Lebanese at the Jungle Group of Investments, adding that they have turned him over to Col. Robert Gibson for investigation.
However, when this paper contacted the LIS Border Patrol Deputy Commander, William Paye, he accused Gibson of releasing Pmroty without a justifiable cause.
“Mohamed Pmroty was arrested and turned over to Col. Gibson, but was later released by him for reasons best known to him,” Paye disclosed.
“We observed that many of the Lebanese working at the Jackie Guest House and Jungle Group of Investments, don’t have documents, and are working at the behest of some senior security officers in the county,” LIS revealed.
Jungle investment group of companies is supervised by a group of Lebanese under the watchful eyes of business man, Floyd Tomah.
When this paper contacted LIS investigator, Col. Robert Gibson, via mobile phone, he remained tight-lipped, but promised to speak on the issue later.
