LCC Urges Liberians To Transform Hope Into Action In 2025

By Laurina B. Lormia
The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), under the leadership of Rev. Samuel Reeves, has issued a bold challenge to Liberians, urging them to turn the promise of a new year into tangible progress for their communities and the nation.
In a New Year’s message, Rev. Reeves called on citizens to look beyond celebrations and focus on the hard work of reconciliation, unity, and social action.
According to him, the New Year is not just a time for reflection but a call to action.

“As we celebrate the birth of Christ, we must also embrace the responsibility that comes with His mission serving the poor, uplifting the brokenhearted, and championing justice,” he quoted.
He added, “This year, Liberians should move beyond words and embody the hands and feet of Christ adding true renewal comes when we put our faith into action, creating a future where God’s love and light shine through our collective deeds.”
“2025 can be a year of transformation if we choose to act,” Rev. Reeves asserted. “Let us walk together in faith, courage, and love, knowing that every step we take brings us closer to the Liberia we dream of,” he noted.
However, his message underscored the urgency of addressing Liberia’s most pressing issues through collective effort. Which reflects the LCC’s commitment to fostering peace and national development,
“Are we truly living out the values of Christ’s ministry? Are we making tangible strides toward unity and compassion in a nation often divided by political, social, and economic challenges?” he questioned.
Rev. Reeves urged leaders and citizens alike to prioritize the needs of the vulnerable, reminding them that a nation’s strength lies in its ability to care for the least among them.

He also called on Liberians to channel their faith into meaningful change.
His address was more than a message of hope; it was a powerful call to action for unity and shared purpose.

He urged the nation to move forward together, anchored by the values of compassion, justice, and reconciliation.
Meanwhile, as Liberians embrace the opportunities and challenges of a new year, the LCC’s call to action serves as a powerful reminder that hope is not a passive sentiment instead, it is a driving force that must be cultivated through unity, service, and an unwavering commitment to building a brighter future.
The Liberia Council of Churches has reaffirmed its role as a moral compass for the nation. Through its New Year’s message, Liberia continues to grapple with persistent challenges, including economic hardship and social fragmentation.
The LCC underscored the enduring importance of faith-based leadership in tackling the nation’s challenges.

The message highlighted the transformative impact of small, consistent acts of kindness and integrity in strengthening communities.
