Lartey Selects Final Squad for Women’s Wafu Nations Cup

Liberia’s Women Team Head Coach, Robert Lartey has released the final squad of 20 players for the maiden edition of the West African Football Union (Wafu Zone A) Nations Cup finals in Sierra Leone.
A provisional squad of 24 players was called-up to begin preparations at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on 10 February. The squad has been trimmed with strikers Angeline Kieh, Pauline Agbotsu and Agatha Nimene named on the team that is expected to travel Freetown.
Liberia, who have been drawn against Mali, Gambia and Guinea Bissau in Group B, will be based in Makeni.
Hosts Sierra Leone, Cape Verde, Senegal and Guinea are in Group A and will be based in Bo.
Liberia will play Guinea Bissau on 26 February at 4:30PM, Mali on 28 February at 2:00PM and Gambia on 2 March at 4:00PM respectively.
The tournament will run from 25 February to 7 March.
Liberia are returning to familiar territories where it played six female international friendlies last year.
In Bo, Liberia under-20 lost 2-0 to Sierra Leone under-20 on 18 December; beat Mogbewma Queens 1-0 on 20 December and dumped Kahunla Queens 5-0 on 22 December.
In Makeni, Liberia senior team drew 2-2 with Sierra Leone on 18 December; dragged Rising Queens 8-0 on 20 December and dumped Mahmoud FC 5-1 on 22 December.

Defenders: Lucy Massaquoi, Marie Flomo and Linda Gaye (Blanco FC); Margaret Stewart and Zhyphel Sharewillie (Senior Professionals); Jestina Wilson (Determine Girls) and Crystal Mulbah (Earth Angels)
Midfielders: Francisca Howe (Earth Angels), Sylvia Pyne (Determine Girls), Hawa Kpan (World Girls) and Miatta Morris (Senior Professionals)
Forwards: Angeline Kieh and Kanties Sayee (Earth Angels); Agatha Nimene (Blanco FC), Pauline Agbotsu (Determine Girls), Bernice Willie (Senior Professionals) and Lucy Kikeh (World Girls).
