LACC Comptroller Resigns …Says He Did Not Go To School To Work Free

More resignations seem to be emerging from within the Weah-led Government in recent times which is unprecedented in just his second year of leadership. One of the most recent is the resignation of the Comptroller General of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC}Comptroller General, J. Bernard Nagbe, for what he termed “uncertainty” over his take-home salary.
Mr. Nagbe’s resignation comes in barely two days following the resignation of the Liberia Water and Sewer Cooperation’s (LWSC) Deputy Director for Technical Services, Dan Saryee as well as the Director General of the National Bureau Concessions, Gregory Coleman.
“This is unbearable and I can no more tolerate the difficulty associated with caring for my family I love so much. It is better to have no job then have a job and appeared irresponsible to everyone I have business relationship with,” Nagbe stated.
I owed almost everyone in Liberia and I can no more endure this degree of difficulty,” a copy of Mr. Nagbe’s resignation letter which is in the possession of this paper stated.
“Henceforth, I can no more continue this useless sacrifice to the LACC, the Liberian people and the government. I am not willing to negotiate a minute or a second of my time serving without pay,” he reiterated.
“Thank you for the time I have spent working for the Liberian people, my government and my service to this specialized and very important institution,” he expressed.
“I am aware of the critical responsibility associated with my work at this Commission but all of this, the wellbeing of my family and myself come first. Goodbye. I will be available for an unofficial role to provide all needed assistance in whatever handover you may deem necessary and appreciate” he said.
Meanwhile, the resignation of Mr. Saryee which was also made public on Sunday for what sources termed as alleged unfavorable working conditions is said to have been delivered to the office of President George Weah since the beginning of the month of November.
The news of the resignation of Mr. Coleman also emerged citing his tenure as Director General at the National Bureau of Concession had been full of challenges and rewards; another resignation which came at the heels of Saryee’s who had earlier declined to comment further.
“As you all may be aware, overtime, there has been an escalation from wrongful communication, to incitement, then provocation, now verbal insults and physical assault,” Mr. Coleman’s letter of resignation read.
“I have served in government for nearly 20 years. Unlike me, many others in government have made similar commitments to Liberia and remain unsung. Therefore, I am grateful to have achieved success to the top from the first rung of the Liberia National Police,’ he pointed out.
“Nevertheless, it is time for me to become a private citizen, and hereby resign as head of the Bureau of Concession to allow for my replacement to have a smooth transition into the job,” Coleman maintained.

  4. I have been surfing online greater than 3 hours today, yet I never found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is lovely price enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made good content material as you probably did, the internet will likely be a lot more useful than ever before. “When the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object.” by Milan Kundera.
