Labor Ministry Takes Decent Work Law Inspection To Southeast

The Ministry of Labor has commenced a one-month vigorous inspection of South Eastern Liberia covering River Cess, Sinoe, Grand Kru, Mary Land, River Gee, Grand Gedeh and Nimba Counties.

The logistics deployed include seven 4×4 fully loaded double cap; Toyota Pickups, eight heavy duty Yamaha Motor Bikes, work permit enrollment kits and a wide range of other items.

The LRA and the LIS are providing backups while the primary objective is to ensure full compliance with the Labor Law and Regulations of Liberia by ensuring Decent and safe working environment for workers and improvement in salaries and benefits for workers. The team also seeks to increase government’s revenue through enforcement of work permits payment and levy fines against violators.
