The Founder and CEO of Kuoh Foundation, Cassell Antony Kuoh, yesterday donated to several mosques in Montserrado as a way of identifying with Muslims during their holy month of Ramadan in Liberia.
according to Kuoh, he budgeted US$30,000 for this donation, and has made a kind donation of over a thousand bags of rice, cartons of oil and cartons of fish to the Muslim Community on behalf of his family and the Kuoh Foundation, as they commit themselves to fast and prayers.
“This donation is not for us to just give away, but rather, this is the right thing to do, because we believe that the Muslim communities are praying for us and the nation at large; the peace of this nation has been maintained for the past 20 years and it is because of your continuous prayers,” Kuoh said.
“The Kuoh Foundation took an initiative during the Christmas season; we donated approximately over 600 to 800 bags of rice and other provisions, so we thought it wise to do the same for the Islamic community in this month of fasting,” he stressed.
“For the past seven years, I was incarcerated and was sent to prison in the United States of America. When I came back to Liberia, I thought of everything that is happening in our nation, and I vowed that if God gave me a second chance and I got back my freedom, I would change my way of doing things, and my focus would be more on our people than outsiders,” he narrated.
“The main reason for which we founded the Kouh Foundation is because people always used to say I am a good man. At first, my good was done to individuals, but this time around, I am trying to give my good to people like the religious community, institutions, and to do something for mass population, so we are not doing things for individuals but for the masses,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Imams from various mosques extended their thanks and appreciation to the Kuoh Foundation, and released blessings and prayers to them for the donations.
The Secretary General of the Muslim Congress Mosque, Sheikh Lassana Kauteh, expressed their happiness and gratitude to the Kuoh Foundation for the kind gesture, and for also remembering them in their month of fasting and praying.
“For thinking about all the mosques today and donating to them in this manner with a good heart, you should know the benefit of it and continue to do so, especially this particular fast month, and we will remember you always in our prayers, as it is written in the Koran, if you do one good, God will multiply it for you 70 times,” Kauteh said.
For his part, the Imam of Randall Street Mosque said, “We appreciate the Kuoh Foundation for donating food to us in this holy month of Ramadan; whether you are a Muslim or Christian, we are all Liberians, and for us to think good and bring unity towards one another, it takes Allah’s intervention.
He concluded, “We pray that God renders more help to your foundation than what you did for us today, we are one in humanity and we pray that Allah will promote and protect you and your foundation.
