Liberian parents on Wednesday afternoon became the source of celebration by the Chief Executive Officer of the Kouh Football Academy, Cassell Kouh, for their respective support rendered to the young lads who recently represented the country at the Junior World Cup in Turkey.
Kouh celebrated his Academy’s third place trophy won by the delegation in Turkey at the Junior World Cup thanking parents for their roles played in raising and allowing their kids to participate in football activities.
According to him, bearing children is a single process but parenting them in a way to have a great impact on their generation is the greatest challenge looking at the tough time and attitude embedded in kids’ upbringings.
He thanked all parents associated with the Kouh Foundation Football Academy for enduring courage in all challenging times and maintaining a strong level of resilience that have helped the grassroot team make historical marks at a world recognized level.
“It is one thing to give birth to a child and it is a completely different thing to train that child in a way that they become great in the society. I understand that these boys have given you tough times; there are times you feel discouraged, but now it is your level of resilience to keep standing by them that is why we are here today,” he said.
He encouraged them to keep rendering their continuous support to every process that will improve and grow grassroot football for the future of Liberian football with a promise that he will work in his capacity as Chief Executive Officer of the Academy making available the resources for the young ones to make their football dreams come to fruition.
Kouh on May 22, 2024 also launched a countdown to the 36-month working process that will lead to the dedication of a modern build sporting facility for the Football Academy.
He explained that after three years; starting from the day the boys arrived in Liberia to the World Cup in Turkey on May 22, 2024, the foundation along with the Academy will be at its biggest gathering celebrating the home with the basic necessities for the youth players.
According to him, the kids playing for the academy will have a new address to settle their needs for housing, training and schooling in order to focus on football, which they love best.
“This is just the beginning. In the next 36 months which is three years from now, we will be at our own facility celebrating; maybe another trophy but the bigger celebration will be opening our own facility. We have already acquired the property. These kids will not have to go home. They will go to school and play football at the same facility,” he noted.
