Kosovo Expresses Investment Interest In Liberia

President Joseph Boakai, on Monday, met with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the ongoing US-Africa Business Summit.
Both Presidents are in attendance in Dallas, Texas, the United States of America.
Madam Osmani, during the meeting, congratulated President Boakai on his leadership qualities and expressed a keen interest in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and exploring ways in which they could work together in critical sectors in both Liberia and Kosovo.
Those areas include business and trade, agriculture, diplomacy, youth empowerment, defense cooperation, coal mining, among others, as Madam Osmani also spoke about the challenges her country faced in gaining freedom and justice in the Balkan Peninsula.
She further highlighted how both countries with similar experiences of difficult pasts could work in tandem to motivate improvement in livelihood and strengthen democracy, and thereby extended an invitation to President Boakai to visit Kosovo in the soonest future.
In response, President Boakai thanked President Osmani for her visit and expressed deep interest in strengthening the relationship between both countries, acknowledging the potential such relationships could have on triggering positive impact on their respective local communities.
He pointed to the abundance of natural resources in Liberia that are vital to the growth and development of the country, and shared his vision for attracting investments in trade and commerce, agriculture, and economic development to strengthen the bilateral relationship.
These, he disclosed, are part of his government’s ARREST (Agricultural, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation and Tourism) Agenda, thus requesting Madam Osmani’s help in galvanizing support in the Balkan Region for Liberia’s bid to sit on the United Nations Security Council.
Boakai also emphasized the importance of this bid for Liberia as a means of promoting peace and security, and ensuring that the voices of African nations are heard in global decision-making processes across the globe.
Meanwhile, the historic meeting between Presidents Boakai and Osmani is one that promises to produce positive dividends, with both leaders sharing a strong commitment to working together to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Kosovo and Liberia.
Their conversation was further characterized by mutual respect, openness, and an expressed desire to promote peace, security, and prosperity for their respective nations and the wider global community.
