Nimba County District 5 lawmaker, Samuel G. Kogar, is calling on the CDC led government to pay back the county’s Social Development Funds (SDF) without delay.
Speaking in Nimba County recently during the visit of President George Manneh Weah, Representative Kogar frowned at the government for allegedly diverting the county’s Social Development Funds to the purchasing of vehicles for the county administration.
According to the Nimba lawmaker, the action of the executive to use the funds intended for the development works undermines the development drive of the county.
Representative Kogar further emphasized that the government had no right to have used the Social Development Funds to buy vehicles for the Superintendent who is a presidential appointee.
The District 5 Representative added that lawmakers who are praising President Weah for bringing developments in the county are seeking glory for reelection come 2023 Presidential and Representative Elections.
It can be recalled that during the beginning of 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs purchased a four door pickup to be used by the Superintendent, Development Superintendent, County Inspector and others for the smooth running of the county’s affairs.
Representative Kogar and Representative Younquoi are among the eleven lawmakers who are notable amongst the youths, elders, women organizations of being vocal on the government in terms of issues of concern in the county and the government respectively.
Speaking on the pending 2023 Presidential and Representative Elections, Rep. Kogar boasted of being affectionate by his people and indicated that he will win the election for the third time in District 5.
