The Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND), another Civil Society Group, has added its support to Deputy Speaker Fonati Koffa’s bid for the Speakership in the 55th Legislature.
According to the group, its support is occassioned by the overwhelming reality of experience, discipline, integrity, people-centeredness, and demonstrated excellence in public service by Rep. Koffa.
MIND’s analysis of Koffa’s leadership roots from his years of services as a Representative, representing the people of District 2, Grand Kru County, before ascending to the Deputy Speaker position, and also towards his service in the private sector as a dependable and respected lawyer.
According to MIND’s Executive Director, Sekou D. Sonii, Koffa served with distinction, integrity, and responsibleness, commanding respect from both his colleagues and the public for his expertise and accountable style of leadership over the years.
The CSO group said the demonstration of decency in both public and private services, which encapsulates accountability and trustworthiness, as well as transparency in the use of public authority, projects him to contest the Speakership election.
“Hon. Koffa has presented himself for preferment by his colleagues; we too declare our unquestionable support for him as the most well-suited candidate for the post, and he is the most preferable for the post,” Director Sonii assumed.
Koffa earlier served on different committees and chaired the Committee on Judiciary in the House before ascending to the Deputy Speaker position of the 54th Legislature.
