The Student Unification Party (SUP) is calling on the Unity Party (UP) led-government through the Liberia National Police (LNP) to investigate the July 26, 2022 brutality that was meted against its members at the US Embassy in Monrovia.
In a release issue recently, SUP described the act as the most barbaric humiliation students have experienced in recent years since the end of the Soweto uprising and as such, the need for justice to prevail can never be overemphasized.
According to them, it is two years now since student activist Christopher Sivilli and other students who were humiliated and brutalized; there has been no justice served and no investigation least to speak of finding closure to the matter.
“Surprisingly, the perpetrators of the act committed on July 26, 2022 are being seen all around the city moving in impunity while the comrades who were ill-treated, brutalized and humiliated by them are living with the scars of psychological effects,” the group said.
They maintained, “And if these things are not addressed, it might take us to strange happenings. The government through the Ministry of Justice must ensure justice for Christopher Sivili and others.”
