Joint Security Chair-lady Survives Accident In Nimba

By Solomon T. Gaye Sr.

The Liberia Joint Security has disclosed that the Commander of the Liberia Immigration Service and Chair-lady of the Joint Security in Nimba, Yei Dolopaye, narrowly escaped death in a motor accident in the county.
According to information gathered by this paper from the office of the Joint Security in Sanniquellie, Madam Yei Dolopaye was involved into a tragic motorbike accident while touring borders along the Butuo belt in Electoral District # 5 in the county.
Speaking via mobile in Sanniquellie, the Joint Security explained that due to Madam Yei Dolopaye’s deplorable health condition, she was unable to be part of the official visit of President George Weah in Nimba County.
The Liberia Immigration Service added that the head of the Joint Security is presently in Monrovia seeking medical treatment and is due to return to the county anytime to resume work.
Since the coming into power of the CDC led government in 2018, the lack of operational vehicles for the Liberia National Police to patrol or fight crimes and the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) to monitor various borders that will prevent illegal entry of Goods or travelers into the county are some of the problems faced by the Joint Security in Nimba County.
Since the coming into power of President George Manneh Weah in 2018, reports of illegal crossing of borders to enter Liberia’s territory in Nimba in the border Town of Butuo in the Kparblee belt is a common practice and the order of the day, thereby creating fear among the citizens in the county.
Kparblee citizens who lived in the district early 2020, alarmed over the illegal crossing over of 35 Burkinabes into Kparblee District, amidst dishing out of huge cash to citizens to allow them carry out farming activities in that district.
Also in October 2020, it was reported on Voice of Tappita Community Radio that over 30 Ghanaians crossed borders along the Kparblee belt with huge numbers of Yamaha 100 Motorbikes for business purpose.
Butuo City is an administrative headquarter of Electoral District # 5 that contains several unrecognized or sub borders without any assigned State Security.
