The Insurance Company of Africa (ICA) marked its 55th anniversary with a grand celebration.
During the celebrations in Monrovia, serving as president of the Liberian Insurance Association and Governing Council member of the West African Insurance Companies’ Association, Madam Ethel Knuckles expressed gratitude for the support the company has received over the years.
“It has been a long, amazing, and fun journey, sometimes frustrating, but overall, it has been a wonderful year; all thanks to our staff and customers, but firstly, I tip my hat to our staff and agents who work diligently in the trenches. I raise my glass to you all and wish you continued success,” she said.
Also the ICA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ethel Knuckles acknowledged the regulators and board for their ongoing support, adding, “I’m thankful for the working relationship with our regulators and the support from our board to move ICA forward. I also appreciate the presence of my family members here today.”
The Director for Insurance at the Central Bank of Liberia, Nathaniel Gbagba, commended ICA for its contribution to the insurance industry, saying, “We are excited to be part of the program celebrating the 55th anniversary of the longest-running insurance company in our country.”
Gbagba praised ICA for producing the first Liberian to graduate from the West African Insurance Institute, and the second female Managing Director and CEO.
ICA Board Chairperson, Frankie Hayford, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the milestone, and stressed, “Celebrating 55 years is no small feat and this evening, we recognize the staff, board, shareholders, and patrons who made this possible.”
A board member and investor at ICA, Steve Cashin, expressed pride in being part of the company’s journey, noting “We’ve seen an evolution at ICA over the years, and we’re looking forward to the next five years.”
General Manager, Charles Amoako, highlighted ICA’s achievements, and narrated that anniversaries are not only a time to recollect memories but also to cherish them.
Amoako commended the staff for their dedication and enthusiasm, which have contributed to ICA’s success.
Meanwhile, as part of the anniversary celebrations, ICA sponsored the National Spelling Bee and the 2024 National County Meet.
The company also organized a sports day between ICA and International Bank Liberia on April 27, 2024.
The Insurance Company of Africa remains committed to its vision of being the leading and most trusted insurance company in its markets, offering both life and non-life insurance products such as vehicle, fire, property, and group medical insurance.
