Indian Delegation Visits Ministry Of Defense

The Second Secretary of the Embassy of India on April 4, 2024, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of National Defense (MoD) boss, Rtd. Brig. Gen. Geraldine Janet George.
During the visit, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of India, Jitendra S. Rawat, outlined several important issues that will benefit both the MoD staff and the AFL personnel.
Rawat said that, over the years, the Government of India has been working with authorities of the Ministry of National Defense in providing scholarships for both the MoD staff and the AFL to be trained in India.
He said that the relationship between the both countries is not only for the MoD staff and AFL personnel, but the Government of Liberia, as former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, who visited India twice in 2023, was conferred the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peaceful Disarmament, including several other governmental programs that she participated in, in 2015.
“Besides, the former Deputy Minister for Operations at the Ministry of National Defense, Prince K. Vincent, visited twice for the India Africa Defense Dialogue (IADD), in 2022,” he said.
Making a closing remark, the Acting Minister George appreciated the many contributions that the Government of India has given both the MoD and AFL when it comes to training.
The Acting Defense boss also stressed the need for MoD staff to participate in Indian training programs, so as to enhance their skills and capacities.
