Imageliberia Identifies With Less Fortunate

A local humanitarian NGO, Imageliberia, has given out a consignment of food and non-food items to several elderly women, children and men in the Kpanja Community in the Township of Johnsonville in Montserrado County.
The items which included rice, Argo oil, Maggie cubes and soap (bath and washing) as well as sweets for the children, was given on Saturday, February 15, as the organization’s way of identifying with the residents.
The items which put smiles on the faces of the residents, cost a little over US$500 and is the first phase of series of donations to be given to people in hard-to-reach communities in the Southeast, as well as Montserrado, Margibi, Bong, Lofa, and Nimba Counties respectively.
Making the donation, Imageliberia Executive Director, Edwin G. Wandah, said his organization had been in the business of reaching out to people with assorted food items, most especially people living in deserted communities.
He lauded the organization’s Board for its supports over the years as well as members of the Executive Committee for working tirelessly to see the organization move forward and called on citizens to remain hopeful and exhibit patience as he and his team were working hard to on their promises to the targeted communities and counties.
Imageliberia’s Administrator, James Yarkpah, also lauded the Board and the Executive Committee for the level of commitment they have exhibited and at the same time expressed delight over the reception they received from citizens.
The residents lauded the organization for the items and promised to keep praying for them while 98 year old Peter Kiamue, who is believed to be the oldest resident of the community along with a host of women and men as well as children also lauded the organization for the gesture and called on them to keep on the good work.
Beatrice Daniels, 53, thanked the Imageliberia team and called on them to focus on the providing skills training and other forms of empowerments that would help alleviate some of the stress that that imposed poverty in the community and could serve as a factor to reduce them to perpetual hardship.
“This is the first time we have seen this. For people to come to us and give us food and other things; Let God bless you and provide for you as you continue to think about us; we are grateful to the Almighty God and to you in particular for the rice and other items you brought; we won’t forget this in the history of this town,” some members of the community told the team members.
