The Representative of the District 2 in Montserrado County, Jimmy Smith, warned Mayor Jefferson Koijee from making unhealthy statements against him.
It can be recalled days ago, Mayor Koijee who chaired the 2023 Primary committee of the Coalition for Democratic Change referred to Representative Smith as ungrateful for distancing himself from Sunday primary in the District.
But, reacting to Mayor Koijee’s statement, Representative Smith termed it as disappointing for the CDC 2023 primary chairperson to have referred to him in such a manner for a process he has no knowledge about.
According to Representative Smith, at no time did he, as a CDC lawmaker, ever receive a call from any member of the primary committee or went to them to register as a candidate to participate in such process.
Representative Smith disclosed that his name entered the process by default, describing Mayor Koijee and his committee members’ action as a witch-hunt, thus calling for mutual respect from all parties.
At the same time, Representative Smith has rubbished speculations that he has not been in good standing or supportive of the CDC since his election.
According to him, he has been regular in due payment with the party and supportive of every instrument from the government, disclosing that he has never been a liability to the CDC that he suspended his membership from recently.
He described Mayor Koijee and his committee members’ decision as a no surprise because Koijee has threatened him and Representative Tibelrosa S. Tarponweh of ensuring that they are dealt with politically.
The Montserrado County District 2 Representative has therefore warned Mayor Koijee to desist from taking on a fight that he might not sustain; disclosing that he remains civil on the decisions he has taken regarding the party
