Humanitarian NGO Gives Assorted Items

A non-governmental organization, Kolu Sokodolo Children Foundation, last Thursday donated assorted food items to residents of the Noway Community behind the Roberts International Airport in Margibi County.
The residents, mainly pregnant women and children who benefited were seen sharing tears as a way of showing their appreciation for the gesture.
Kolu Sokodolo Children Foundation which is run and operated by a humanitarian, Kolu, has been providing several supports to needy communities, most of which are impoverished.
Thursday’s donation was one of the biggest since the humanitarian Ngo was established.
Noway Town is hours away from the Roberts International Airport; and homed to hundreds of residents, predominantly, women and children who are school going but are not in school due to the distance covered by most of the little children.
The children and pregnant women expressed thanks and appreciation to the Foundation for providing them those items. In an expression of tears, most of the parents cried of not having their children in school.
They called on the Foundation to come to their need at least to build a school for them. The residents promised to give land and man power for the construction of a school in their community.
Meanwhile, the County Director of Kolu Sokodolo Children Foundation, Margibi branch Monue Shine Gbelemah has lauded residents of the Noway Community for welcoming them to them.
Shine who traveled with a team from Foundation promised more support to the people, mainly women and children. Those who traveled along the team were Sokodolo Foundation Martin Palay, Korto Samah, the Business Manager and Sokodolo Administrator Cecelia Finda Gbelemah.
In response, the community residents thanked the Shine and his delegates and further called on them for more support, over 20 pregnant women, hundreds of children, and elderly people benefited Clorox, soap, delta, cortex, towel and baby clothes, and used clothing worth thousands of Liberian dollars.
“We are suffering, we are dying, we need help, this is the first time to see this, since I was born and grew up here, no one had come to this place to give us this, this is strange” a 67 year old mother stated in tears.
“This is the first time for us to receive these gifts, we are dying, for every time we wake up, the need to go to school resonate in our minds, we are left in the dark, we need help,” Prince, a 12 year old boy stated with sadly.
