The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fonati Koffa, has established two pivotal Ad-Hoc committees set to play crucial roles in the upcoming inauguration of President-elect, Joseph Boakai, and Vice president-elect, Jeremiah Koung, slated for Monday, January 22, 2024.
Committee on Inauguration led by Unity Party Lawmaker, Rep. Richard Nagbe Koon as Chair and Rep. Moima Briggs Mensah, Co-chair, is charged with the monumental task of overseeing the inauguration proceedings and facilitating access passes for all legislators.
Accompanying them in this crucial mission are Rep. Rugi Berry, Rep. Samuel Enders, Rep. Sam Jallah, and Rep. Julie F. Wiah, forming a team poised for success.
Simultaneously, the Committee on Administration, spearheaded by Rep. Malvin Cole as Chair and Rep. Priscilla A. Cooper as Co-chair, has been entrusted with the responsibility of allocating offices to Representatives and managing various administrative undertakings.
This committee also includes Rep. P. Mike Jury, Rep. Gizzier Kollence, Rep. Bintu Massaley, Rep. Alfred Flomo, and Rep. Austin Taylor, ensuring a comprehensive approach to administrative efficiency.
Speaker Fonati Koffa, emphasizing the significance of these committees, issued a stern caution to the committee heads and members, urging them to work diligently and uphold the integrity of their respective roles.
As the Ad-Hoc committees commence their tenure, all eyes are on their pivotal contributions toward a successful inauguration and the streamlined administration of legislative offices. Diligence, undoubtedly, will be the linchpin to the triumph of these committees in executing their tasks with precision and effectiveness.
Meanwhile, Speaker Koffa called on his colleagues from now to next Monday to send their CVs, in order to appoint qualified members in various positions.
